A Swimwear Capsule with Retro Flair (and Sandals to Match)

When I began designing my first swim capsule collection for Antonio Melani, I knew I wanted more than just swimsuits. I wanted pieces that felt playful yet polished, versatile yet timeless, with just enough retro charm to transport you to summers gone by—while still feeling fresh for today. The result? A collection that celebrates individuality and ease, with styles that truly work for everyone.

From chic solids that anchor a wardrobe to floral separates that add a dose of whimsy, the collection leans into the beauty of mix-and-match. Think: one-pieces so chic they double as bodysuits, high-waisted bottoms with a vintage wink, ruffles for when you’re feeling flirty, and sleek halters that never go out of style. Each silhouette was chosen with intention, so no matter your mood—or your beach plan—you’ll find something that feels just right.

    The Swim Edit

Let’s start with the Miraflores pieces, which quickly became favorites while designing. The Miraflores Top and High-Waisted Bottoms are classic with a twist: simple lines, but cut to flatter and paired with that retro rise we all secretly (or not-so-secretly) love. For those who like a little extra movement, the Miraflores Ruffle Top pairs with the same high-waisted bottoms for a softer, more romantic vibe.

For a streamlined look, the Miraflores Halter and Hipster Bottoms balance sleek lines with just enough coverage. And the Miraflores One-Piece might be the most versatile of them all—it transitions seamlessly from beach to dinner when styled as a bodysuit. (Yes, that’s one swimsuit earning double the wardrobe mileage.)

Then there’s the Rendezvous set, which feels as breezy as its name suggests. The Rendezvous Halter and Hipster Bottoms are understated in the best way—effortlessly chic, easy to wear. The Rendezvous Ruffle Top, on the other hand, is for days when you want a little more playfulness, balanced by the same hipster bottoms for a modern fit.

And of course, I couldn’t resist adding a touch of romance with the Amore styles. The Amore Ruffle Top and High-Waisted Bottoms feel feminine without being fussy, while the Amore Halter and Hipster Bottoms offer a sleeker take for minimalists.

Every piece was designed to be mixed and matched, whether you prefer the structure of solids, the softness of ruffles, or the versatility of halters. It’s about creating a wardrobe of swimwear that works for you, not the other way around.

    The Sandal Companion

No capsule would be complete without footwear. Enter the Clarke Sandals, named after Clarke Road in Palm Beach—a street I adore for its effortless charm. These sandals were designed with comfort and versatility in mind, the kind you slip on in the morning and forget about until evening. They’re flat, chic, and made for long days in the sun, whether that’s a casual stroll by the water, a quick coffee run, or just everyday living.

And while they’re perfect for spring and summer, I have to admit: living in Florida, I find myself reaching for them year-round. They’re the kind of shoes that quietly become a staple, the pair that always ends up by the door because they go with everything.

    Gratitude and Community

Launching this collection has been such a joy, but what’s made it truly meaningful has been your response. Seeing photos of you styling your favorite pieces, reading your feedback, and hearing your stories has been the highlight of this journey. Design isn’t just about creating beautiful things—it’s about creating things that resonate, and your support has made that possible.

Please know my DMs are always open. I love hearing which pieces you’re drawn to, how you’re wearing them, and what you’d like to see in future collections. This line was inspired by the idea of versatility and play, but it’s also shaped by you—the community that continues to bring it to life.

As the seasons shift and beach days beckon, I hope this capsule makes you feel confident, comfortable, and a little more joyful. Whether you’re reaching for a ruffled top, a sleek halter, or just slipping into Clarke sandals on your way out the door, I wanted each piece to feel like an invitation: to play, to rest, to enjoy.

Here’s to a season of retro-inspired swimsuits, sandals made for sunshine, and the stories you’ll create in them.
